Tempestuoso

Tempestuoso is my new resin edition, a storm which has been brewing in my studio for over a year! This big, bad, Baroque boy is feeling every bit of muscle and sinew work in concert as he twists his body, leaps, and  dodges....perhaps the playful ranch dog? A bull? Another horse? His owner working him in the round pen?...This is where your imagination will round out his story!

A BIG SHOUT OUT to the *amazing* women who helped me noodle out this complex boy as he morphed into being; Sue Sifton, Caroline Boydston, Kitty Cantrell, Laurie-Jo Jensen, and Lynn Fraley, at whose workshop he started as a simple ball of clay and wire. Thank you also to my friend Barry Getz for your hours of listening to my chatter and giving me feedback on him, and to the judges at Models in the Mountains (2025) for your feedback! In this sense, he is a creation of many artists and art lovers, and will be so excited to present him as my first full-bodied, fully *horse* edition!

Tempestuous is a 1:9 scale Andalusian Stallion. His run size is as of yet undetermined. He will have wire reinforced legs and tail.  He is still in the sculptural phase as I finesse his anatomical intricacies (as of Fall 2025 he is pretty close to the end of this phase!) and will be moving on to the fine detailing phase (my favorite phase!) where he will get fleshed-out and gain wrinkles, veins, fascia, and other fine details. Stay tuned for this one, I assure you, he is slowly morphing behind the scenes and will be worth waiting for!
